Itinerary
DAY 1: RAMPUR ARRIVAL | BREIFING
- Board an overnight Volvo on Day1 from Delhi for Chandigarh /
Shimla from the pre decided pickup point. - Upon reaching Chandigarh /Shimla, you will be transferred in the 4x4
vehicles & will begin this expedition. - We pass through the popular towns of Kufri and Narkanda and drive
next to the Sutlej river. - Upon Arrival in Rampur, check into the hotel and freshen up.
- Rest for a while and then we will have a mandatory briefing session
- about the terrain and will draw out a day-wise final plan.
- After the briefing, have proper rest to begin the most awaited Spiti
- Valley 4x4 Expedition journey.
- Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Rampur
DAY 2: RAMPUR TO CHITKUL (116 KMS)
- Wake up early in the morning and get mesmerised by the beautiful sunrise.
- After breakfast, drive towards Chitkul- 'Last Abode of India.
- Drive along the Sutlej River, navigating with breathtaking views.
- Pause at Karcham Dam for a quick photo op and soak in the mesmerizing views of the confluence of rivers.
- Upon reaching Chitkul, check into the homestay and freshen up.
- Walk around this picturesque hamlet, with its traditional wooden
houses, the roaring Baspa River, and snow-covered surroundings. - Later enjoy warm dinner around the bonfire and overnight stay
at Chitkul.
DAY 3: CHITKUL TO KAZA (257 KMS)
- Have a healthy breakfast and get ready for Kaza transfer.
- Enroute pass through the Khab bridge that marks the confluence of Spiti
and Satluj River. - Drive along the Sutlej River, transitioning into the rugged terrain of Spiti
Valley. - Brief stop for refreshments and fuel.
- Tackle the challenging icy patches and landslide-prone areas Malling
Nallah. - Visit Lingti waterfall, which is a frozen waterfall.
- Reach Kaza and witness the stark yet stunning landscapes of the valley
under a blanket of snow. - Rest in a cozy guesthouse or homestay in Kaza.
DAY 4: KAZA SIGHTSEEING
- Wake up early and start your day with a breakfast.
- Post that, get ready to visit Langza, the village of the Buddha statue and get awestruck by its beauty.
- Drive to the highest motorable road village in the world- Komic and
next stop is Hikkim, from where you can send a postcard from
'Highest Post Office in the World' to your loved ones. - Visit the Key Gompa Monastery nestled in a bowl-shaped valley ofthe small village Langza in Spiti valley.
- You will then go farther up the valley to the picturesque village of Kibber that will lead your way to the Chicham Bridge, the highest bridge in Asia.
- Come back to Kaza. Dinner and overnight at Kaza.
DAY 5: OFF-ROADING | KAZA EXPLORATION
- Wake up early and after breakfast, we will begin the day with an
adrenaline-pumping off road adventure in the snow covered terrain
around Kaza. - Test your 4x4 vehicle's capabilities on icy paths and rugged
landscapes. - Reflect on the unique experiences in Kaza, such as off roading, and the
potential sighting of a snow leopard - a rare, special, unforgettable
and possibly a lucky encounter in the wild. - Wrap up the day with a hot meal at homestay, sharing stories of offroading
thrills and wildlife encounters.
DAY 6: KAZA TO KALPA (216 KMS)
- On Day 6 of your Spiti 4x4 Winter Expedition, the journey from Kaza to
Kalpa takes you through stunning landscapes, rugged Himalayan
terrain, and high-altitude passes. - Enroute, Stop at Nako Lake, a stunning frozen gem surrounded by
snow-draped peaks. Take a short break for photos and refreshments. - Descend into the Kinnaur Valley, driving alongside the Sutlej River
through snow-draped terrain. - Stop at Reckong Peo for refueling or to stretch your legs. Check into a
cozy hotel and warm up with a hot beverage. - Enjoy dinner and unwind with the stunning views of the Kinnaur
Kailash range after the challenging drive.
DAY 7: DEPARTURE
- The last leg of this Day for Winter Spiti Expedition is here.
- Visit the local monastery and temple in the morning.
- Post breakfast, We drive towards Suicide Point in Kalpa.
- Later, we will drive towards Shimla with a bag of delightful memories
and exciting stories to recount. - On reaching Shimla, you are free to explore the mall road of Shimla and
buy some suvineors for your loved ones (at your own expense and if
time permits). - In the evening board your bus to Delhi. Reach Delhi the next morning.
- This will mark the end of your amazing tour to Spiti Valley.
